Please please help me out

Question

My WL position for phot is 2 in ETB. I am already alloted to IT2F. I am really not into IT and took admission in that only in hope of getting upgraded to Photonics. If not, I wanted to cancel my admission. Now they are saying that the next upgradation is on 25th of July. If I wait that long and I dont get upgraded i will be in a messier mess coz degree admissions in the colleges around here will be closed by then. So please give me your genuine opinion about my chances in getting upgraded to Photonics on 25th or 30th. Please..

yes as said by kmaniac your chances for phot are good as many leave phot later on and seats should come up and if you are so interested in it then you should wait for that

but at the same time since you are not interested in IT therefore it can be a bit risky too

so you should first look at your position in other colleges that what you are getting there with certainity if that is a good branch then you can go there as IT2F might not be good enough as a branch of your choice in other college

so ponder over it and take a wise decision

Thr is chance buddy.....but dat totaly depends on vacant seat... if u r gettin ur preferd branch in othr college then catch it... bcos it will b gud for u... u may get photonics but why to take chance !!! Ol d Best :) (Hope this ans helps u ). N juz wait till evnin seniors will give u a perfct soln !! !!

but varsha,u will see.my answer strange but in india it is the IT field tht is getting a rush by female engineers and you can't just let it down a course in CUSAT and u have a greater option of joining some other courses in spot admsn too.... andeven you will get photonics and you first of all check the last rank details for further details and to understand where you are

yup..i know about the rush in IT yaar..but there is a thing called interest naa.. i am really really not into IT..and the thought of studying the course for 4 years is making my head spin..I checked last years rank details..upto GEN rank 12000 has been allotted to photonics..I think I am gna take a chance here..
