I'm admitted to IT, but my choice is Photonics.

Question 1

My query is, if I get admitted to IT and not get Photonics right now, do I have any chances of getting admitted to Photonics during the academic year in case a vacancy pops up?

no once the admission process closes completely after the spot rounds then there will be no changes in your branch till the end of the first year

at the end of the first you can apply for the change for your branch but whether any change occurs in that would depend upon your cusat cat rank , the availiblilty of seats in your desirecd branch and the rush in that branch.
