what is the use of option registration (online branch preference) if we have to attend the councelling at cusat campus ?

what is the use of option registration i.e. giving the branch preference online if we have to reach the cusat campus for attending the councelling ??
pls explain the councelling procedure in brief ?
i am a non keralite.

the use of option registration is to be fair with everyone and let the students who are participating in the allotment process should be updated with the status of their current option after the allotments

At counselling you will have to come alongwith your certificates for the verification. There will be three round allotment before you are called for the coinselling and only those who will be able to get a seat in these allotments will be called in the counselling.

I guess there have been some changes in the admission procedure. There won't be any seat allotment from now onwards. At the day of counselling you should come and get yourself registered. Those who fail to register will not be considered for the admission. After you are registered you will be provided a seat or you will get the Waiting List Status of your options.
