After taking admission to a seat if I don'`t want to move up in my choice.

Is it possible to remain in the initially allotted one?

yes u can remain on ur initial position...u can cancels ur higher options fully in writing before the next allotment.... Requests for cancellation of higher options should be submitted in person to the 

Director, IRAA between 10.am and 3.00 pm on working days.  Requests via 

post/email/telephone/FAX etc will not be accepted.

after admission when u have joined classes .... u wont be moving up if u dont wish ...they will just give u a choice if u want to move up.... but if u are allotted the choice in the initial counselling phase and u dont want to move up .... give it to them in writing in person
