Of course the standard of faculty, facilities and placement cell differentiate these courses from others...but believe me,all branches have got their own importance ...respect every branch :)

could i aslo know why the university pays special attention to these courses?
no such special attention is being paid yaar....each and every courses are given equal importance by the university, its the students and faculty who act for their respective departments :)

everything is good here in cusat.... even the city of Kochi gives a good exposure .... i wont say that its somewhat IIT B ...or IIT K .... but it was set up to be one of those .... so it has got everything thats needed to be one of the greats in the field of higher education.... 180 acres is something very few institutions have it....so its big n beautiful .... maintaining has been some problem .... but until its in the hands of the state .... it will be a bit lousy ..... wait till it becomes an IIEST... hopefully

I can give info on PSRT
Polymer Science is not limited in its scope, its a vast subject than any other engineering material. Its a research and Dev Subject too. Its the complicated version of your 12th standard chemistry. You'll learn about all Basic Engineering Subjects,Chemical Engineering, Application of polymers in biomedical, aerospace, defense, Surface coatings, their compounding, formulation, properties etc. This is one the few departments where the student to teacher ratio is highest. 80 percent of our faculties are PhD holders from various IITs in the same subject. Our professor Dr Rani George is India's first lady rubber technologist. You'll just have to do the studying part once you're here. Placement: 5 of 10 gets placed and the rest opts for higher studies. Most of the graduates go for Tyre industry, then comes defense research, industrial research and then the plastic field Our department follows the syllabus taught in Eindhoven University of Science and Technology, Netherlands. Students interested in doing MTech an get into Tu/e by topping the class. CUSAT is one of the few universities in India that teaches Polymer Science, with specialization in Rubber Technology.
