COMMON ADMISSION TEST - 2023 (CAT 2023)

The Common Admission Test of Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is scheduled to be conducted in various centres of the country.

All admissions except Ph.D/ All Diploma Courses

The candidates who wish admissions for programmes other than Ph.D/ All Diploma Courses in CUSAT should apply for CAT through this portal. Applications in any other method will not be accepted.

Applicants for MBA programme need to register for CUSAT CAT-2023 through this portal and complete the application process. Candidates with a valid KMAT/CMAT/CAT(IIM)Score can apply for MBA programmes. These candidates will be ranked on the basis of KMAT/CMAT/CAT(IIM) Score, Group Discussion and Interview. However, those candidates, without valid score for the time being can register now and they will be provided the opportunity to enter the valid score of KMAT & CMAT before the closure of the application for the MBA program of SMS, CUSAT.

Students who wish to get admission for BTech Marine Engineering at KMSME in CUSAT, should register for CAT 2023, select Course B.Tech and complete the center selection step also. The applicants need to appear for the Common Entrance Test conducted by Indian Maritime University (IMU) and the admission shall be based on the IMU rank. For more details click here.

For M.Tech programmes, preference will be given to candidates with valid GATE score in the respective subject. In the absence of candidates with valid GATE score, candidates without GATE score will be admitted on the basis of their performance in Department Admission Test (DAT) to be conducted by the Departments concerned.

Admission to Ph.D/ All Diploma Courses

For admissions to Ph.D/ All Diploma Courses in CUSAT need not apply online through this portal. The application will be available from the Departments concerned. For details, please check the website cusat.ac.in/academics

Real time admission to B.Tech (Other than B.tech Marine Engineering)/ Integrated MSc.Photonics are scheduled as follows

16-07-2018	Monday	CAT General rank from 8001 to last rank

Vacancy position for each day will be published in www.cusat.nic.in one day prior to the date of real time admission. Vacancy available for 12.07.2018 will be published only after 6 pm on 11.07.2018. The vacancy position so published may vary depending on number of candidates waitlisted. Candidates should report at 9.30 am at Seminar Complex, in front of Administrative Office, CUSAT, South Kalamassery, Ernakulam District . Those coming after 10 am sharp will not be permitted to register for real time admission.

Before attending real time admissions candidates are advised to read carefully the counselling instructions published in the website cusat.nic.in

Who can Attend Real Time Admission ?

Those candidates who had not got any allotment and have CAT 2018 rank can participate. Those who got allotment and took admission need not attend the real time admission. They will be considered for higher options based on rank and availability of seats. Those who got allotment and failed to pay fees/took admission can not attend Real time Admission

What is Real Time Admission ?

In the Real time admission, seats are allotted to candidates who report at the venue based on their options already registered and their CAT rank. For real time admission candidates along with parents have to report at Seminar Complex, in front of Administrative Office, CUSAT, South Kalamassery at 9.30 am on the dates specified above. Range of CAT rank in each day is given above. Candidates have to register their names and allotment will be made based on availability of seats and number of candidates registered on each day. Candidates who got allotment have to submit all required certificates including Non Creamy Layer Certificate in case of SEBC/OBX candidates and Community certificate in case of SC/ST candidates. They have to pay required fees on the day itself and to collect admission certificate after certificate verification. All candidates in the present waiting list should attend real time admission/counselling. Candidates who attended real time admission on a day and did not got allotment will be waitlisted. The candidates so waitlisted need not attend further real time admissions. But they have to report for joining if they got allotment in subsequent updating.

What is difference between Real Time and Spot admission:

Real time and spot admission is open only to candidates having CAT 2018 rank. In real time admission only, candidates who had not got allotment is eligible to attend and allotment is based their registered options, CAT 2018 rank and availability of seats. In spot admission registered options will not be considered and all those who have CAT 2018 rank can participate. Allotment is based on availability of seats and CAT 2018 rank. Choice of candidates will be collected before allotment in spot admission.

Ajmal, Real allotment is now called Spot admissions.. Yes there will be a spot admission, which allots people who are allotted / not alloted. Spot admissions consider people who are present at the venue on the specified date alone, that increases chance.

Yes with 4332 you might get in IT at CUCEK. all the best.

What is Transfer Certificate ?

Transfer certificate is a certificate issued to a student on his request by the in charge of the institution ie. College or School when the student wants to leave that institution. The transfer certificate has in it personal details of the student mentioned in it and states the date of birth of the student as per the record of the said institute, when and which course the student studied in the institution, the last class passed or failed and further certifies that the said student has paid all his dues to the institution and is not a defaulter.

In Short, an additional document to prove that you itself has studied in the School / institution and the School verifies the same.

With a General Rank 4921 you have hope in CUCEK alone. CE, IT in CUCEK.

I checked and found out army quota is for MBA full time programme, which is reserved for Army officers recommended by the Army Head Quarters.

I dont think so. Safety and Fire Engineering has an Intake of 60 and its been at the center-spot during admissions. Its not going to kept vacant that long. anyhow give it a shot on Spot admissions (you never know).

You have chance for all branches in second campus for Payment seat under ETB quota. and IT in main campus (pay seat) under ETB quota.
